Two post or four post: which car hoist do you need?
Two post hoists
Two post hoists lift the vehicle by its chassis, so the wheels hang free. Choose one if most of your work is:
- brakes, suspension and tyres
- exhaust and underbody repairs
- general mechanical servicing in a tight bay

Four post hoists
Four post hoists are drive-on, so the vehicle sits level on its wheels. Choose one if most of your work is:
- servicing and inspections
- wheel alignment
- storing or stacking vehicles
The X models add upper scissor lifts, so the wheels can come off too. From $11,990 AUD.

Car hoist prices in Australia
Our car hoists range from $9,900 AUD for either two post model to $19,250 AUD for the FP4000X four post hoist with upper lift. The price comes down to three things:
- Type: two post hoists cost less than four post hoists.
- Capacity: 4,000 kg four post models cost more than 3,500 kg ones.
- Upper lifts: the X models add scissor lifts for wheel-free work.
Worth knowing: the FP3500X ($14,960) costs less than the FP4000 Standard ($16,170). If you need the wheels off more than you need the extra 500 kg, the X is the better buy.
When you compare quotes from other suppliers, check the warranty and who does the installation as well as the price.
Installation and site requirements
A car hoist is only as safe as the site it's installed on. Before we quote, we check:
- slab thickness and concrete strength (critical for two post hoists)
- ceiling height over the bay
- power supply at the hoist location
- how vehicles and people move through the workshop

Five-year warranty, and who we build for
Every Bishamon hoist we supply carries a five-year warranty. Most hoists on the market get two or three years.
We've been fitting out workshops since 2011 for clients including Toyota Motor Corporation Australia, BMW Australia and Genesis Motors Australia. Hoists are often one part of a larger job: we also design and build complete workshops.
